In order to reduce the negative effects of COVID-19, the diocese of Istmina-Tadó, with the support of CASA HOGAR and the Children’s Mission, conducts educational and leisure activities. Under the guidance of a group of specialists, including recreational pedagogues, nurses and social workers, children are brought closer to the importance of the virus in everyday life and how to deal with it correctly; they are also given psychological support.
The leisure activities of the project are carried out not only in Istmina, but also in 8 other remote communities in Chocó.
In addition, the project aims to train teachers in Istmina schools in the use of digital and distance learning methods and the community in general on issues such as child abuse, sexual abuse and the importance of living together well at home to raise awareness in these difficult times of the pandemic.
