The expansion of the “Colegio Diocesano San José” by another floor means that the church and regionally renowned school now has capacity for 400 students instead of the previous 200.
As a result, not only do more pupils per year benefit from the above-average quality of teaching at the Colegio Diocesano compared to other schools in the Chocó. It is also possible to teach higher grades and thus lead them to the university entrance qualification (“bachillerato”).
The extension of the Colegio Diocesano is part of CASA HOGAR’s first project, the “CASA HOGAR Niña María” hostel for girls. The residents of the hostel receive a scholarship to attend this renowned school.
Attending school offers all students, but especially the girls at CASA HOGAR Niña María, a path to a self-determined life.
