A special thanks to all of us

On 1 July 2025, CASA HOGAR Deutschland e.V. will be awarded the ‘Orden de la Democracia Simón Bolívar’ in the Congress of the Republic of Colombia – one of the highest state honours for special services to democracy, social development and human rights.

The honour recognises our joint commitment to the protection, education and empowerment of girls and women in the crisis region of Chocó – and thus to a more just and peaceful future. It goes to all those who support and make CASA HOGAR possible: our partner organisations, supporters, cultural ambassadors and the many full-time and voluntary volunteers in Colombia and Germany.

Our founder, Dr Theodor Rüber, accepted the award on behalf of the entire network. The ceremony will be accompanied by a concert with our long-standing cultural ambassador Magdalena Hoffmann and a classical Colombian ensemble.

This award is both recognition and an incentive for us.
We would like to thank everyone who has helped to shape CASA HOGAR – for their passion, commitment and trust.
