The guarantee for effective and sustainable development cooperation on the ground in Colombia is close cooperation with partner organisations on an equal footing. In addition, it is important to always maintain a neutral position (also politically) within the illegal groups fighting each other in the Chocó.
The strongest partners for CASA HOGAR are therefore the church dioceses in the Chocó: not only have they maintained neutrality in the decades of civil war, but above all, with their constant supportive availability, they have become a reliable contact point for the often abandoned population. In addition to the dioceses, we also work – in contrast to large international NGDOs – with small local initiatives and organisations.
In Germany, CASA HOGAR – in addition to a growing number of private donors, who are not only supporters for us but also motivating and loyal companions – consciously relies on cooperation with other organisations. In addition, we successfully seek funding from public and private sources. In this way, the foundation of private donations is increased and the impact in Chocó is enhanced.

BeA Foundation
CASA HOGAR is pleased to be supported by the BeA Foundation in 2022. The BeA Foundation wants people to be touched by the need of people all over the world (but also in Germany) and to help with their donation to be a saving angel for them. Donating should not be a pious exercise of duty, but should be done out of gratitude for being blessed with many goods. Raising awareness of this gratitude and letting people experience that sharing brings joy and enriches one’s own life is an important goal of our foundation, in addition to promoting projects.
Blood Donation Service at Bonn University Hospital
Blood donations save lives: Otherwise operations could not be carried out, seriously injured people could not be treated and many people with cancer could not be treated. Four out of five people in our Rhine/Sieg region need blood at least once in their lives. For the patients in the Bonn University Hospital alone, 28,000 blood donations are needed every year.
And the very special thing about the Blood Donation Service at the Bonn University Hospital: you can even help twice with your blood! Your blood will directly help a seriously ill person in your immediate neighbourhood and – if desired – give education to girls and women in the Chocó in Colombia through CASA HOGAR.
We are happy about double blood donations at the University Hospital Bonn!
